Terms of Service

Manatee Labs · Effective September 23, 2026

Scrip is experimental software under active development. It is provided as is, without any warranty or promise of availability, security or support. Please read Sections 2, 10, 15 and 16 carefully.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding legal agreement between you and Manatee Labs (the "Developer", "we", "us" or "our") governing your access to and use of Scrip, including the website at which these Terms are published, the Scrip web dashboard, the Scrip mobile applications for iOS and Android, the Scrip application programming interfaces, the Scrip printer and hub software (including the printer agent, the provisioning service, the setup hotspot and Bluetooth setup, the local network endpoint and any device management or update functions), any disk image, installer or card writing tool, any hardware kit, and any related content, features and services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, signing in, selecting "I agree", installing or using any part of the Service, or connecting a printer or hub to the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a household, organization or other person, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf, and "you" includes both you and them.

2. Software under active development

THE SERVICE IS EXPERIMENTAL SOFTWARE UNDER ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT. It is offered as an early release and may contain bugs, errors, security vulnerabilities, design flaws and other defects, some of which may be serious. Features may be incomplete, may behave unpredictably, and may be changed, suspended or removed at any time, with or without notice.

You acknowledge that the Service is not a finished product, that it has not been independently audited or certified, and that it is not designed, tested or intended for any use in which failure, delay, inaccuracy, interruption or disclosure could lead to financial loss, property damage, personal injury, death, a missed legal, medical or other obligation, or any other harm. You agree not to rely on the Service for any such purpose, including medication reminders, safety or medical alerts, legal or financial deadlines, or any other time critical or important task.

Nothing in these Terms, on the website, in the applications, in marketing material, in documentation or in any communication from the Developer is a promise, commitment or guarantee that any feature will exist, work, continue to be offered, or be offered on any particular terms.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or accept these Terms. A person below that age may use the Service only as a member of a household whose owner is a parent or legal guardian who has accepted these Terms and who is responsible for that person's use.

Sign in is provided through a third party identity provider. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information associated with your account, for keeping your credentials, devices and sessions secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it. You must notify the Developer promptly at the contact address below if you believe your account has been used without your permission. The Developer is not responsible for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

The Developer may refuse, suspend or close any account at any time and for any reason or no reason, including where the Developer believes these Terms have been breached or that doing so is necessary to protect the Service, other users or the Developer.

4. Households, members and printers

The Service lets you create households, invite other people to them, and connect printers to them. A household owner controls who is a member and which printers belong to the household. Any member of a household can send content to that household's printers, can see content that other members choose to share within the household, and may be able to see information about the household's printers and members. Only invite people you trust.

Printers print whatever members of their household send to them, including through schedules, reminders, calendar feeds and integrations. You are responsible for everything printed on your printers and for the physical location and security of printed output. The Developer is not responsible for any content printed, not printed, printed late, printed more than once, or printed on the wrong printer.

Removing a member or a printer may not take effect immediately. In particular, a person who has been removed from a household may continue to be able to print to that household's printers over the local network for up to twenty four (24) hours, and devices may continue to act on information they received earlier until they next contact the Service.

5. Printers, hubs and device software

Printer and hub software is provided to run on hardware that you own or control. When connected to the Service, a device may: register itself and report its status, software version, network addresses and configuration to the Service; download and store a copy of your household's schedules, reminders, calendar feed addresses, member names and printing settings; fetch calendar feeds and other content directly from the internet; accept print requests from phones on its local network; advertise itself on your local network; operate a Bluetooth service and a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot during setup and when it loses its network connection; and, on devices enrolled in device management, change its hostname, restrict its network traffic, disable interactive login, place its operating system in a read only state, and download and install software updates supplied by the Developer.

You authorize the Developer to perform these functions on devices you connect to the Service, including installing, modifying, disabling or removing software on enrolled devices, without further notice or consent. You acknowledge that any of these functions may fail, may leave a device unusable or in an unexpected state, and may require you to reinstall or replace software or hardware at your own cost.

Local network features communicate without transport encryption. Anyone able to observe traffic on your local network may be able to read content sent to your printer, and anyone with physical access to a device, its storage card or its setup hotspot may be able to read or change the data stored on it, including calendar feed addresses and access credentials. You are solely responsible for the security of your network, your devices and their physical surroundings.

Thermal printers, power supplies, USB hubs, single board computers and related equipment carry risks including heat, fire, electrical shock, choking hazards from small parts, and chemical exposure from thermal paper. You are responsible for using, placing and supervising all equipment safely and in accordance with its manufacturer's instructions, and for keeping it away from children, pets, water and flammable material.

6. Hardware kits and orders

Where the Developer offers to assemble or supply hardware, any request, quote, order form or status update is informational only, is not an offer capable of acceptance, and does not create any obligation on the Developer to supply anything, at any price, by any date. The Developer does not process payments through the Service. Any sale of hardware, if one occurs, is subject to the separate terms agreed at that time and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is provided AS IS and without any warranty from the Developer; any warranty that exists is the warranty, if any, of the original component manufacturer.

7. Third party services

The Service depends on and interoperates with services the Developer does not control, including identity and sign in providers, email delivery providers, hosting and network providers, calendar providers, TickTick and other task services, Apple, Google and their application stores, GitHub, and the manufacturers of your printer, hub and network equipment. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The Developer is not responsible for, and makes no representation about, any third party service, and is not liable for any failure, change, outage, data loss, security incident or other act or omission of any third party.

When you connect a third party account (for example a task manager or a calendar feed), you authorize the Service to access, copy, store and transmit the data made available through that connection for the purpose of operating the Service, including storing copies on your printers. Connections may stop working at any time.

8. Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in the text, checklists, templates, schedules, calendar data, task data and other material you submit to or through the Service ("Your Content"). You grant the Developer a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free, sublicensable and transferable license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, render, print, display and otherwise use Your Content to operate, maintain, secure, support and improve the Service, and to comply with law. This license continues for as long as Your Content is held by the Service or in its backups.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the license above, and that it does not violate any law or anyone's rights. The Developer does not review Your Content, has no obligation to store, back up, preserve or return it, and may remove or refuse to process any content at any time.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to: (a) use the Service in violation of any law or regulation or anyone's rights; (b) send, store or print content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing or harmful; (c) print to a printer, or add a person to a household, without the permission of the people responsible for it; (d) access or attempt to access any account, household, printer, device or data that is not yours, including by using a device identifier you were not given; (e) probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service or any device, or circumvent any authentication, rate limit, locality check, subscription check or other control, except as expressly authorized in writing by the Developer; (f) interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service or any network or device; (g) copy, modify, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the Service except to the extent that applicable law or an applicable open source license expressly permits it; (h) use the Service to build a competing product, or resell or sublicense it; or (i) use any automated means to access the Service other than the interfaces the Developer provides for that purpose.

10. Security, data and privacy

NO METHOD OF TRANSMITTING, PROCESSING OR STORING DATA IS COMPLETELY SECURE, AND THE SERVICE IS UNDER ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT GUARANTEE, AND MAKES NO REPRESENTATION, THAT THE SERVICE, YOUR DEVICES OR YOUR DATA WILL BE SECURE, CONFIDENTIAL, AVAILABLE OR FREE FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, ALTERATION, DISCLOSURE, CORRUPTION OR LOSS. Security breaches, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and data loss may occur, including breaches of the Developer's systems, of third party systems, and of devices in your home.

You should not submit to or print through the Service any information you are not prepared to have disclosed, lost or altered, including passwords, financial or payment information, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you care about.

To operate the Service the Developer collects and processes information including your name and email address as provided by your sign in provider, household and membership information, the content you print and your print history, schedules, reminders, templates, calendar feed addresses, connected account tokens, device identifiers, device status and network information, approximate locality signals, and technical logs. This information is stored with hosting and service providers and may be processed in countries other than your own. The Developer may use it to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Service, to communicate with you about the Service, and to comply with law or respond to legal process, and may disclose it where the Developer believes in good faith that disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect the Developer, users or the public. The Developer does not sell your personal information. If the Developer publishes a separate privacy policy, that policy also applies.

The Developer is not liable for any unauthorized access to or use of the Service, your account, your devices or your data, or for any breach of security, however caused, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Availability, changes and discontinuation

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. The Developer does not commit to any level of availability, uptime, performance, support or response time, and the Service may be unavailable, slow, inaccurate or interrupted at any time, including because of maintenance, updates, outages of the Developer or third parties, network problems or device problems. Scheduled prints may be delayed, skipped, duplicated or printed out of order.

The Developer may modify, suspend or discontinue all or any part of the Service, including support for any printer, hub, operating system, mobile application or integration, at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. If the Service is discontinued, your data may be deleted and devices may stop working with the Service.

The Developer has no obligation to provide updates, bug fixes, security patches, support or maintenance of any kind. Where updates are provided, they may change or remove features.

12. Fees

Parts of the Service are currently offered without charge. The Developer may introduce or change fees for any part of the Service, including remote access to printers, at any time. Any paid feature will be offered subject to the price and terms presented when you choose to buy it, and, except where applicable law requires otherwise, all fees are non refundable. Access that has been granted without charge may be withdrawn at any time.

13. The Developer's rights and feedback

The Service, including its software, designs, text, graphics, logos and the Scrip name, is owned by the Developer and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, the Developer grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non exclusive, non transferable, non sublicensable license to use the Service for your own personal, non commercial household purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Components distributed under an open source license are governed by that license to the extent it conflicts with these Terms.

If you send the Developer ideas, suggestions or other feedback, you grant the Developer an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty free right to use it for any purpose without obligation to you.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. The Developer may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. On termination your right to use the Service ends immediately, and the Developer may delete your account and data without liability. Sections 2, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 13 through 19, and any other provision that by its nature should survive, survive termination.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE, ALL DEVICE SOFTWARE, ALL UPDATES AND ANY HARDWARE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", "AS AVAILABLE" AND "WITH ALL FAULTS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE DEVELOPER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON INFRINGEMENT, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, AVAILABILITY AND RELIABILITY, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE OR ERROR FREE, THAT PRINTS WILL OCCUR AT THE RIGHT TIME OR AT ALL, THAT DATA WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR PRESERVED, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY DEVICE SOFTWARE IS FREE OF VIRUSES, VULNERABILITIES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOU USE THE SERVICE AND ANY DEVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICES, NETWORK OR PROPERTY AND FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS.

16. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE DEVELOPER, ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, USE OR OPPORTUNITY, COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, INCLUDING ANY SECURITY BREACH, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, DATA LOSS, OUTAGE, INTERRUPTION, DELAY, MISSED OR DUPLICATED PRINT, DEVICE FAILURE, FAILED OR FAULTY UPDATE, OR THIRD PARTY CONDUCT, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, PRODUCT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND EVEN IF THE DEVELOPER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO THE DEVELOPER FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, AND (B) TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US$10).

These limitations apply even if any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they are an essential part of the basis of the bargain between you and the Developer, without which the Service would not be offered.

17. Indemnification and assumption of risk

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Developer and its owners, employees, contractors, agents, licensors and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, Your Content, your devices, anything printed on printers you control, the conduct of members of households you own, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone's rights.

You understand and voluntarily assume all risks associated with using experimental software, connecting devices to your network, installing software on hardware you own, allowing remote management of that hardware, and operating printers and electrical equipment in your home.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Developer is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Before bringing any claim, you agree to contact the Developer at the address below and to try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days. Subject to that, and except where applicable law gives you a non waivable right to bring proceedings elsewhere, any dispute must be brought exclusively in the courts of the jurisdiction in which the Developer is established, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either party may bring an individual claim in a small claims court of competent jurisdiction.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND THE DEVELOPER EACH AGREE THAT CLAIMS MAY BE BROUGHT ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, AND EACH WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred, to the extent permitted by law.

19. Mobile applications and app stores

If you obtained a Scrip mobile application from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and the Developer only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"); that the Developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for the application and its content; that Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the application; that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the application other than, if the application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, to refund the purchase price (if any) on notice to Apple; that the Developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the application, including product liability claims, claims that the application fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims, subject to the disclaimers and limitations in these Terms; that in the event of a third party claim that the application infringes intellectual property rights, the Developer, not Apple, is responsible for its investigation, defense, settlement and discharge, to the extent required by these Terms; that you represent you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; that you must comply with applicable third party terms when using the application; and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you obtained a Scrip mobile application from Google Play or another store, that store's terms also apply to your use of the store, and the store operator is not responsible for the application or these Terms. Your license to use a mobile application is limited to devices you own or control and is subject to the usage rules of the store you obtained it from.

20. Changes to these Terms

The Developer may change these Terms at any time. When the Developer does, the updated Terms will be posted with a new effective date, and you may be required to accept them before you can continue to use the Service, including by being signed out of the mobile applications. By continuing to use the Service after updated Terms are posted, or by accepting them, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

21. General

These Terms, together with any additional terms you agree to for a particular feature, are the entire agreement between you and the Developer about the Service and replace any prior agreement. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will stay in full force. The Developer's failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without the Developer's prior written consent; the Developer may assign them freely, including in connection with a sale, merger or reorganization. The Developer is not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, agency, employment or fiduciary relationship, and there are no third party beneficiaries except as stated in Section 19.

You agree that the Developer may provide notices and other communications to you electronically, including by email to the address associated with your account or by posting them in the Service, and that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing. Headings are for convenience only.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, limitations or exclusions. Where that is the case, the affected provisions apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits any right you have that cannot be waived or limited by contract.
